Alone (Poem)

I lie awake, I lie alone.

Living for myself, in terms that I,

Departing from this world, only but the bone.

Temporary waves of people,

All too impermanent, no one to rely.

I lie awake, I lie alone.

Self sufficiency in its finest,

Independently made — all roles in one guy,

Yet departing from this world, only but the bone.

Fearful of my personal accountability

All pressure to the self — please God tell me why?

I like awake, I lie alone.

Like the hourglass of life,

One day the final grain will pass on by.

Departing from this world, only but the bone.

Fate deemed us alone into this world, and alone out,

Everlasting solitude is how mankind shall die

I lie awake, I lie alone.

Departing from this world, only but the bone.
