Fallacious Love (Poem)

How hath you claim to love me —

And yet you pierce me with your hatred.

Stabbing underneath the skin,

Jolting my being, perpetrating my emotions.

How hath you claim to uplift me —

And yet you insult me to the grave.

Burying me in my lowly, descending spirit,

Attacking the fragments of my self esteem.

How hath you claim to care for me —

And yet I beg, as a pathetic creature, for your respect.

You talk down to me like my father does,

But even worse you do so knowingly.
