Unbelonging (Poem)

The familiar feeling of anxiety swarms your being,

As you yet again travel to a temporary refuge.

A place that you long to call home,

But the home does not long for you.

Maneuvering around the settlements like a nomad,

Adjusted to the lifestyle of impermatance.

You sat in the car seat of the stranger’s vehicle,

As you rode in an automobile full of foreigners.

Such outsiders would be deemed as your family,

But this family isn’t everlasting, not by blood or by name.

For you am just an orphan girl belonging to no one,

And no one to belong to but the road of your travels.
