20 Years With Grant Taylor (Event)

This celebration was in honor of Grant Taylor who has been riding for Volcom for twenty years (1998-2018). Thomas Taylor, Grant's father, was a former pro skater who started teaching Grant how to skate at age six. Grant has always been a natural at skating from the start and his father recognized that he was a child with a "talent that needed to be addressed". Grant became pro in '09 and is currently sponsored by Volcom, Independent, Nike, Spitfire, Monster, ect. He was awarded "2011's Skater of the Year" and given swarms of appreciation by Volcom and Nike — who made an exclusive shoe line for only Grant and his significant others. This event premiered the documentary of Grant Taylor's journey through skating and displays the evolution of his powerful style that is so greatly admired today. The celebration was located at Volcom's headquarters and included free food and IPAs. Inside the facilities was a timeline of photos that displayed Grant's accomplishments with skating.
