Livelihood (Poem)

Living day to day mindlessly

Is just as depressing as not living at all.

I cannot fathom how dreadful it is,

To be obsessively consumed in pointless bullshit:

Endlessly scrolling through feed...

Binge watching television series...

And being warped into this system that purges reality.

My heart yearns that you would find pleasure and purpose elsewhere.

You are the most empowering species of them all,

You are human — capable of all the wonders the world has to offer.

In all measures you are worthy.

So why belittle your existence to one that falls short,

Of experiencing the livelihood of nature?
