Funny How We're Strangers Now (Poem)

Funny how we pretend

Like one another doesn't exist.

Funny how you're the only person

I've ever truly missed.

Funny how we continue our lives

Unaware of another's endeavors.

Funny how we possessed infiniteness

But you couldn't guarantee forevers.

Funny how you still cross my mind

Even though you're physically absent from my life.

Funny how months later the sound of your name

Still pierces my gut like a knife.

But the funniest thing of all,

Is that it's not so funny at all

How pathetically I miss you

And how pathetic I am to miss someone like you.
